Terri Schiavo and our growing culture of death

It is shocking and disturbing to me that so many people support ending Terri Schiavo’s life. We have no proof that, as her husband claims, she would want to die. Since we don’t have any proof, the default should be life. It seems, however, that many believe hers is a life not worth living. That argument has been made before, with disastrous results. Here’s my column on the issue.

To transhumanists and those who value somatic choice: think VERY carefully about this. It is important going forward.

While we debate a woman wo died many years ago, we bury or burn people with their identity and memory fully intact just because their hart stopped beating!
