A friend sent me this email today (yes, I got her permission before posting). The same thing happened to me — very annoying. And the music indusrty wonders why people go to KaZaA?
“I HATE iTunes. I bought a song and downloaded it to my PC, but I can’t play it on my MP3 player. All files are MP4 files which is only compatible with iTunes and iPod. Even when I downloaded it to my PC, it will only play through iTunes. It won’t play in my MP3 player. So they ripped off my $1.
From now on, I’m downloading music from Walmart.com because not only is it compatible with all MP3 players and platforms, but it’s less expensive at $0.88/song!!!”
So, here’s to Walmart! (well, except that Walmart’s music downloads only work with a PC… arrgh!)
So why don’t you just burn the AAC file to a CD, and then rip it from the CD into MP3 format? That’s what CD-RW disks are for! 🙂
