I saw him on Charlie Rose a few months ago and he said, “Right Now, I think I want to live to be 90. I think science has a chance of stopping it [Alzheimer’s].” Maybe he already has it…
Here’s the NYT piece about it. Craig Venter also had his genome sequenced and deposited it in GenBank, a public DNA database. As one might expect, Venter says his genome is higher quality b/c it was sequenced from scratch instead of by comparing short lengths of his DNA with the 1st reference sequence that was obtained from various anonymous donors. We are well on our way towards personalized medicine.
